「妻籠宿」は中山道沿い、江戸から数えて42番目の宿場町です。

日本で最初に宿場保存事業を行われた「寺下(てらした)の街並み」や、国の重要文化財に指定されている「脇本陣奥谷(わきほんじんおくや)」をはじめとして、宿場町全体が江戸時代の面影を残しています。 歴史を感じる散策を楽しんでみませんか。

Tsumago-juku was the 42nd post town of Nakasendo Road from its origin, Tokyo. The entire post town preserves the atmosphere of the Edo period, including the “Terashita Streetscape”, which was the first post town preservation project in Japan took place. Tsumago also has the “Wakihonjin-okuya”, one of Japan’s Important Cultural Properties.
